STEPS has been providing integrated, competitive work environments for citizens with disabilities for over 30 years. STEPS currently serves 11 individuals sponsored by the VA Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). Employment services are CARF accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).

At STEPS Recycling is a community-based recycling program that employs adults with disabilities. This program aims to promote environmental sustainability while fostering social inclusion and empowerment for individuals with disabilities. By providing meaningful employment opportunities, the initiative not only helps reduce waste but also enhances the skills and independence of its participants.

Here are some key features of our recycling program:

· Environmental Impact: Reduce waste and promote recycling within the community.

· Community Engagement: Raise awareness about the importance of recycling and capabilities of individuals with disabilities.

· Collaborative Partnerships: Partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to expand recycling efforts and support the program.

· Comprehensive Recycling Services: Collection, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials from local businesses, households, and events.

· Employment and Training: Participants receive training in recycling operations, safety protocols, and customer services, ensuring they gain valuable work experience.
