Head start and early head start programs
Head Start provides early childhood education to eligible three- and four-year-old children in eight South Central Virginia counties. Early Head Start provides infant and toddler care in Amelia, Charlotte, Lunenburg and Prince Edward counties. Head Start also offers services to expectant mothers.
Head Start / Early Head Start
STEPS Head Start is a federally funded education program that provides early interventions for children and families to increase self-sufficiency and school readiness.
Head Start program is open to preschool age children ages 3-5!
Early Head Start Program is open to infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 36 months.
Children with disabilities are welcome! Must meet eligibility guidelines.

Expectant Moms
The Early Head Start Expectant Moms program is designed to drive health outcomes for mom, baby, and family though prenatal education, family support services and education, postpartum support, connections to community, health, and nutrition resources, breastfeeding support, and of course our Early Head Start program.
