Workplace Supports

Provides TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) recipients assistance with employability skills attainment,job development/acquisition, and employment retention.

Supported Employment Situational Assessment

An assessment of one's employability skills that is performed within a community business that engages in the type(s) of work activity that interest the participant.

Supported Employment

Encompasses a variety of services provided to an individual who seeks employment within the community but requires support in order to be successful.

Enclave

Highly supportive employment option where a group of individuals and a supervisor perform work activities for a community business.

Facility-Based Employment Services

Situational Assessment

A brief "real world" evaluation of an individuals' employability skills intended to establish a baseline from which to develop training plans.

Work Adjustment

An on-the-job training program intended to enhance an individual's employability and task specific skills.

Extended Employment

A long-term facility-based employment opportunity for individuals who require a higher level of support in order to be employed successfully.

Funding Sources: Virginia Department for Aging & Rehabilitative Services, public school divisions, private rehabilitation agencies, private insurance carriers, and the Workforce Investment Board.
